As the women constitute half of the population of Bangladesh, it is very important for them to have economic emancipation for a well-rounded development of the nation.
Now a days a good number of women are taking part in economic activities along with their male counter parts. A good number of NGOs, Government and donor agencies have been making efforts to faclitate women to become entrepreneurs since early '80s. As a result institutions like 'Women Entrepreneurs Association', Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce, Industries soon came into being. Yet a lot remains to be done in this regard
